How to cancel Heroku
Heroku charges based on usage, except for the Eco dynos plan, which is a flat monthly fee. To stop charges, downgrade each app's dynos and add-ons, then close the account from your account page if you no longer need it.

How do I cancel Heroku?
- 1Get a copy of your database and other add-on data first.
- 2In the Heroku Dashboard, select an app and go to the Resources tab. If autoscaling is on, click Disable Autoscaling. Then click the edit icon beside each process type, set the number of dynos to 0 and click Confirm.
- 3In the Add-ons section of the Resources tab, click the actions button (three vertically-stacked dots) next to each paid add-on and remove it.
- 4If you pay for the Eco dynos plan, unsubscribe from it on the Billing page of your dashboard.
- 5To close the account, pay any unpaid balance, then use the link at the bottom of your account page to close your account.
What happens after I cancel?
- Heroku prorates dyno and add-on costs to the second, and each month you are billed for the previous month's usage. Destroying a data add-on such as Heroku Postgres also destroys all of its data.
- To make sure no new balance builds up while final payment is processed, delete all apps on the account. Deleting an app from its settings page or with heroku apps:destroy is permanent.
- After you unsubscribe from Eco, you can still use your remaining Eco dyno hours until the end of the current month. Next month, all Eco dynos scale to 0 unless you subscribe again.
