How do I cancel Substack?
- 1Go to substack.com/settings and, under Subscriptions, select the publication.
- 2On the Manage subscription page, scroll to the Account actions section and click the link next to "To cancel your paid subscription, click here".
- 3On the Cancel or Pause Subscription page, click Cancel subscription.
- 4Under Please select a reason, choose a reason, then click Cancel subscription.
- 5If the publication offers a free month, click Continue to cancel.
Billed through an app store or partner?
If you subscribed in the Substack iOS app, cancel the subscription through the Apple App Store instead. In-app subscriptions can't be paused.
What happens after I cancel?
- You keep paid access until the end of the billing period you paid for and are not charged again. Canceling does not give a refund.
- After that date you become a free subscriber and still get the publication's free posts. To stop all emails, unsubscribe from the free subscription.
- Free trials that end within 10 days, and past-due, gift and comped subscriptions, end as soon as you cancel.
