How to cancel a WordPress.com plan

You cancel a WordPress.com plan, email or add-on from the billing section of your account. Canceling stops future renewals, and the subscription stays active until it expires.

How do I cancel WordPress.com?

  1. 1Go to the billing section of your WordPress.com account and select Active upgrades.
  2. 2Click the subscription you want to cancel to open its purchase page.
  3. 3Scroll to the bottom and click Cancel in the Cancel subscription section.
  4. 4Review what you will lose, select the confirmation checkbox, then click Cancel subscription.
  5. 5Complete the cancellation survey to confirm.

What happens after I cancel?

  • Canceling turns off auto-renewal. The subscription stays active until its expiration date, and you are not charged again.
  • Canceling does not issue a refund. To end the plan right away, remove it after canceling; if it is still within its refund period, the eligible amount is refunded automatically.
  • When the plan ends, the site reverts to a free site, and your posts, pages and media files stay on it.
