How to cancel a Xero subscription
Only the organization's subscriber can cancel a Xero subscription, and this might be your accountant or bookkeeper. Paid subscriptions have a one-month cancellation notice period, and any overdue amount must be paid before you can cancel.

How do I cancel Xero?
- 1Sign in to the web version of Xero.
- 2Click the organization name, then select Subscription and billing.
- 3Click Cancel subscription.
- 4Check the final date you'll be billed and select your reason for canceling.
- 5Click Confirm cancellation.
Billed through an app store or partner?
If you pay through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, cancel in the Xero Accounting app: from the Home screen, tap your organization name, then Subscription, then Cancel plan on iPhone or Cancel subscription on Android. Xero then sends you to your App Store or Google Play account to finish.
What happens after I cancel?
- You are still billed during the one-month notice period, and you can still access your organization until it ends.
- After the notice period, Xero archives your organization's data. You can reactivate the subscription at any time within Xero's data retention period, which varies by region.
- Canceling does not delete your Xero login or cancel connected app subscriptions, which must be canceled separately to avoid further charges.
