How to cancel a subscription on Google Play

Google Play subscriptions renew at the start of each billing cycle until you cancel. Uninstalling an app does not cancel its subscription.

How do I cancel Google Play?

  1. 1On your computer, go to subscriptions in Google Play (play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions), signed in to the Google Account that has the subscription.
  2. 2For the subscription you want to cancel, click Manage.
  3. 3Click Cancel subscription.
  4. 4In the confirmation pop-up, select a reason, then click Continue.

What happens after I cancel?

  • You can keep using the subscription for the time you have already paid for, and you won't be charged for the next period.
  • In some cases you may be eligible for a refund; Google Play covers refunds in a separate help article.
  • If you cancel Play Pass, apps you installed from Play Pass and their data stay on your device. For content you got through Play Pass, paid apps ask you to buy them or subscribe again, in-app purchases are removed, and ads come back.
