How to cancel Slack Pro or Business+

Workspace Owners and members who upgraded the workspace can cancel a paid Slack plan. In Slack, canceling means downgrading the workspace to the free plan.

How do I cancel Slack?

  1. 1On desktop, click Admin in the sidebar, or click your workspace name if you don't see Admin.
  2. 2Select Manage billing, then on the Overview tab select Change plan details.
  3. 3Select Downgrade to Free and choose whether the change takes effect immediately or on your next renewal date.
  4. 4Click Continue to Checkout, review the downgrade details, then click Downgrade Slack.

What happens after I cancel?

  • On the free plan, paid features are removed and message, file, and app limits apply.
  • Free workspaces can view and search only the last 90 days of messages and files, and messages and files more than one year old are permanently deleted.
  • Slack Connect channels disconnect and guest accounts are deactivated.
