How do I cancel Ancestry?
- 1Sign in to your Ancestry account and go to Account Settings.
- 2Under the Membership section, find the membership you want to cancel and select Cancel membership or Cancel trial.
- 3Follow the prompts until you receive a cancellation confirmation number, and keep it or the confirmation email for your records.
- 4If you have more than one membership, repeat the steps for each one.
What happens after I cancel?
- Canceling turns off automatic renewal, and you keep your membership benefits until the expiration date shown in Account settings.
- After the membership expires, your account becomes a free Registered Guest account. Your family trees, DNA results and account are not deleted.
- Some semi-annual and annual memberships paid monthly charge a cancellation fee if you cancel before the end of the membership period. Refunds are covered in Ancestry's Renewal and Cancellation Terms.
