How to cancel Bitdefender

If auto-renewal is on, Bitdefender extends your subscription automatically when it expires and emails you 45 days before the expiration date. To cancel, you turn off auto-renewal under My Subscriptions in your Bitdefender Central account.

How do I cancel Bitdefender?

  1. 1Go to central.bitdefender.com and sign in to your Bitdefender Central account.
  2. 2Click My Subscriptions in the left menu, then open the My Payments tab.
  3. 3Click View details next to the product (if you bought it with a different email, enter the verification code sent there), then in the new tab click Manage your subscription renewal options.
  4. 4In the pop-up window, click End Auto-Renewal, select a reason, then click End Auto-Renewal twice.
  5. 5If you see a Billing tab instead of My Payments, open the Subscriptions tab, click the [ ••• ] button on the subscription and choose Subscription & Continuous Protection. Click Cancel Subscription, choose Cancel at the end of subscription term or Cancel immediately, click Cancel Subscription, select a reason and click Cancel Subscription again.

Billed through an app store or partner?

If you can't stop auto-renewal from the My Payments tab, use Bitdefender's payment processor 2Checkout (Verifone): go to store.bitdefender.com/myaccount, enter your purchase email, click SEND ACCESS LINK and open the emailed link within 1 hour. On the My Products tab, click Stop automatic subscription renewal, then click Stop auto-renewal, select a reason and click Stop auto-renewal twice.

What happens after I cancel?

  • Once auto-renewal is off, you have to renew your Bitdefender product manually.
  • The auto-renewal status updates immediately in Bitdefender Central, and you get a confirmation email shortly after.
  • On the Subscriptions tab, Cancel immediately is offered only within 30 days of purchase; it gives you a refund and the subscription expires. For a renewal charge you did not want, Bitdefender covers refunds in a separate help article.
