How to cancel Bitwarden Premium or Families

Bitwarden subscriptions renew automatically and are canceled in the Bitwarden web app. A Families plan is an organization subscription, so only an organization owner can cancel it.

How do I cancel Bitwarden?

  1. 1Log in to the Bitwarden web app.
  2. 2For Premium, go to Settings, then Subscription. For a Families plan, an organization owner opens the Admin Console and goes to Billing, then Subscription.
  3. 3Note the Next charge date (Subscription expiration date for an organization), which is when paid features end.
  4. 4Scroll down if needed, select Cancel subscription, and confirm.

What happens after I cancel?

  • You keep paid features until the end of the current billing cycle. After that, a Premium account reverts to the free plan and a Families organization is disabled, but the account or organization is not deleted.
  • Until then, you can select Reinstate subscription on the same page to turn renewal back on.
  • If you cancel within 30 days of starting the subscription, contact Bitwarden for a refund. Subscriptions older than 30 days are not eligible for a refund.
