How do I cancel GitLab?

  1. 1Sign in to the GitLab Customers Portal at customers.gitlab.com. It opens on the Subscriptions & purchases page.
  2. 2Find your subscription card. If it shows Auto-renews on and a date, the subscription is set to renew.
  3. 3Open Subscription actions (the three-dot menu) and select Cancel subscription.
  4. 4Select a reason for canceling, add a comment if you like, then select Cancel subscription.

Billed through an app store or partner?

If you bought GitLab through an authorized reseller, including the AWS or Google Cloud marketplaces, changes to the subscription go through the reseller, so contact them directly.

What happens after I cancel?

  • Automatic renewal is turned off, and the subscription card shows Expires on and the date. The subscription expires at the start of that date, 00:00 server time.
  • On GitLab.com, paid features stop when the subscription expires, but you can keep using free features. On GitLab Self-Managed, the instance becomes read-only when the license expires, and GitLab locks features such as Git pushes and issue creation.
  • You can still renew manually within 15 days after the expiration date. After that, you have to buy a new subscription to get paid features back.
