How to cancel Dropbox Plus or Essentials

On the web, cancelling Dropbox means changing to the free Basic plan.

Cancel on the web

  1. 1Log in at dropbox.com.
  2. 2Click your avatar, then Manage account.
  3. 3Click Change plan at the bottom of the page.
  4. 4Choose the free plan, click Review changes, then Confirm change.

Subscribed in the mobile app?

Plans bought through Apple or Google Play are cancelled and refunded through that store.

What happens after you cancel

  • The account moves to Dropbox Basic (free) at the end of the billing cycle.
  • In most cases there is no refund; customers in some regions, including the EU and UK, have a refund window described in Dropbox's refund article.
  • Dropbox confirms by email that your plan will not renew.
